Work Space and Studio
I talked last week about my studio and I promised some sneak peeks.
I plan to have a welcoming and beautiful studio; with a lot of open space, natural light, arched windows and bone color walls. I want my studio to be a place where you might run into an old friend or meet a new one.
On the walls, I will have pictures of my designs and cases incorporated into the wall filled with light highlighting some of my most popular signature pieces.
I want to create a bar and a cafe with a smoothie bar and a full kitchen to host parties; I want this space to be welcoming. I am inspired by this from my mom’s cooking. During holidays and special days, food is the thing that brings us together.
This comes from someone who only started baking (a total of 3 things so far to be exact; pizza, sweet potato fries and corn muffins) while in quarantine but wanted to bake and sell bread growing up (amongst the other things I wanted to do). I guess I just wanted to make the world a little more beautiful and colorful back then. How different is baking to making and designing jewelry?
I do not want a space that feels pretentious at all, but it is of utmost importance to me to have a feel-good atmosphere.
My tools and workspace will, of course, be separate from the open space, but I do hope to build a space for a community of creators and people who are inspired by my work. I hope that my jewelry will only make it more fascinating to be part of a community encouraging the arts and creativity.
I am in the works of it all. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more.
